Greetings, fellow fangirls and fanboys! This past week we had news on adaptations, remakes, promos… and we also learned that we were calling the DC/Warner film the wrong name! Here’s how the week started:
Here’s a bunch of new Thor: Ragnarok promo artwork, which not only includes great (& artistic!) new looks of all main character, but also a cool poster reminding us (as we would forget!) about the biggest fight in the universe between The Mighty Thor and The Incredible Hulk!
Despite some complaining that Spider-Man: Homecoming underperformed (what with not having a better domestic box office than the Sam Raimi movies), the film is still the #1 superhero movie of the year with a worldwide collection of $874 million. That’s better than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($863.4M), and it’s only behind Spider-Man 3 ($890.9). It has also overtaken Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($868.1M) to become the eighth-highest grossing superhero movie ever. KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE Wins The Weekend
Here’s a preview of Vikings fifth season premiere, where Floki reaches what will become Iceland~
Check out the new trailer for Knightfall, which depicts the final days of Knights Templar during the 14th century. The 10-episode season premieres December 6. And yep, History is on a roll!
Habemus date for IT: Chapter Two! And it is September 6, 2019. The sequel will have the characters 27 years later, when they return to destroy IT for good. And for those who will miss the awesome kids, no worries! Director Andy Muschietti did say the sequel would still include their young counterparts in flashbacks.
Talking about Stephen King books adaptations, the author had a long and interesting interview with Vulture where he revealed his view on why The Dark Tower didn’t work… besides, you know, being not that good. But hey, we still got the TV series to look forward tho!
The major challenge was to do a film based on a series of books that’s really long, about 3,000 pages. The other part of it was the decision to do a PG-13 feature adaptation of books that are extremely violent and deal with violent behavior in a fairly graphic way.
The first 10 minutes of Spider-Man: Homecoming are officially online! You know, because the Digital HD was premiering, and Marvel and Sony wanted to give us a treat. The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD will be released on October 17. We also got to see the gag reel, which was quite adorable. And it has Tom Holland’s Peter Parker saying the iconic Uncle Ben line!
